Wash and drain the chicken pieces thoroughly.
Prepare an orange slurry by mixing orange juice with 1 tsp of cornflour. Mix well.Keep aside.
In a mixing bowl add chicken pieces, soya sauce, and white pepper powder. Mix well, cover and keep aside for 20 minutes.
Next, add cornflour and give it a nice mix.
Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry the chicken pieces until lightly golden.
Place them on paper towels.and wait for some time.
In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of mustard oil.
Add chopped garlic and saute for few seconds.
Then add ginger and stir until the raw flavors go off.
Then add chicken pieces slowly
Stir for few seconds.
Add orange slurry to the chicken pieces.
Cook until the gravy thickens.
Add orange zest.
Remove from heat.
Garnish with spring onion, slices of orange and roasted sesame seeds.
