QUESTIONS?
The “best” mustard oil comes down to purity and process. Saloni uses the Kachchi Ghani method, which retains the natural aroma, pungency, and nutrients that many refined or blended oils lose, making it a trusted choice for households across India.
Yes. Kachchi Ghani mustard oil is extracted mechanically, without chemical solvents, so it retains more of its natural flavour, aroma, and nutrients compared to refined mustard oil.
Kachchi Ghani oil is less processed than refined oil, so it keeps its natural pungency and nutrient profile intact. Refined oils go through additional heat and chemical treatment, which can strip away some of that natural character. Many people prefer Kachchi Ghani for its authentic taste and careful preparation.
It’s naturally rich in monounsaturated fats and Vitamin E, and free from added cholesterol, making it a reasonable choice as part of a varied, balanced diet. Like any cooking oil, it’s best used in moderation alongside other healthy fats.
Mustard oil has been used for generations in Indian households as a hair and scalp oil, often massaged in to add shine and moisture. It’s a traditional beauty practice passed down through families, valued for the nourishment it’s believed to bring to hair.
